What began as The Little Red Schoolhouse in the 1970s has grown into a 33-acre, state-of-the-art campus as ISB heads into the 21st Century.
The International School of Beijing is a co-educational day school that enrolls students from the international community who can benefit from our rigorous, academic program and whose parents reside in Beijing. The medium of instruction is English.
Our curriculum is drawn from the best of English language curriculum models and offers the International Baccalaureate diploma program.
The primary focus of the School is the education of the students. Enriched by its cultural diversity, the School will empower and inspire each student to acquire the knowledge, skills and attributes necessary to strive for personal excellence and become a responsible contributor to the global community.
The School will also provide each student, each day, an exciting and rigorous educational experience designed to help each student grow to become a caring thoughtful, principled, personally and socially well-balanced human being. Each student will have opportunities to become technologically literate, to learn to communicate effectively, to build teams, and to take risks in a supportive environment. The School will inspire each student to become a lifelong seeker of knowledge and excellence.
The mission of the International School of Beijing is to provide the highest quality education to our students. Based on the school´s philosophy and in partnership with parents, we strive to prepare our children for productive and meaningful lives in a rapidly changing world.
ISB students' cultural diversity, multi-national experiences, and multi-lingual skills create a rich learning environment. Indeed, ISB's mission statement and Essential Learnings take these realities into account. Because the primary working parent in ISB families is most likely a senior company executive or diplomat, their families come to ISB with high expectations of their child's educational experience.
Three Strategic Objectives for all ISB students guide ISB's direction:
These goals were established as a part of ISB's strategic planning process which involves stakeholders from across the school community.
