Implementation has begun. It is an exciting time here at ISB as we begin to make the vision of the ISB’s Strategic Plan III, Roadmap to Greatness, a reality. During the coming school year, we will put 14 of the 34 action plans approved last spring into practice. The ISB administrators have developed mutual commitments and expectations directly related to the strategic plan. These commitments will ensure implementation of the action plans.
Strategic planning is not an event, but a way of life for any organization. This is why periodic updates of the strategic plan are vital, not only to the plan but to the organization itself. Updates will therefore be provided to the Board of Trustees as well as the ISB Community in October and March. These updates are vital to the plan and provide an expeditious means of both realizing and controlling the strategic plan.
Four of the specific results that are to be achieved require community contributions in the way of task force groups. All four of the task force groups have met and begun their collaborative work. The model of strategic planning that ISB has chosen makes this process very much community owned.
ISB Elementary School Strategic Planning Summit was held on October 17th. This event brought together 25 faculty members across the Elementary School for a Friday evening and Saturday session. The group, in a collaborative process, identified strengths, areas of focus and developed specific results to be achieved within the division. The process is very similar to the process used by our community a year ago in developing the ISB Strategic Plan. The ISB Strategic Plan is used as a guide as we develop divisional areas of focus to align divisional plans with the school plan.
The continued commitment from the ISB School Community will ensure success of the ISB’s Strategic Plan III – Roadmap to Greatness.
